Leaf Collection The city provides leaf collection services between the months of October and February, depending on conditions necessitating the service. The department offers two types of service, collection for loose leaves and for bagged leaves. Citizens will receive prompt service for leaves that are bagged. Bagged leaves must be in biodegradable bags that can be bought at the Public Works department located at 942 Maplewood Avenue and at City Hall, located at 201 West Grundy Street. NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE January 3, 2019 Contact: Winston Brooks, Public Information Officer, 931.455.2648 Christmas Tree Recycling Public Works is now accepting cut Christmas trees at the recycling convenience center, located at 942 Maplewood. Remove stands, lights, ornaments, nails and tinsel. Recycling your Christmas tree keeps it out of the landfill. The tree is mulched and returned to the Earth. Trees will be accepted at Public Works during their operating hours: Monday-Tuesday 7:00 am - 5:00pm; Wednesday-Friday 7:00 am-6:00pm; and Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with a break from Noon to 1:00pm.
