- Sue Wilson, Finance Director
Susan Wilson was hired by the City of Tullahoma in April 2002, and assumed the responsibilities of Director of Finance and Administration July 1, 2002. Ms. Wilson had previously served as the Finance Director for the City of Manchester and Manchester Water Department for four years. Her municipal experience also includes five years as Deputy Finance Director for the city of Norwich, New York. While in Norwich, she was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Norwich Business Improvement Management Association and elected Treasurer by the Board. In this capacity, she worked with local and state officials to obtain state approval and provide grant assistance for a new branch campus of a local community college in Norwich. She also co-chaired the Streetscape committee, which coordinated beautification efforts for that project. She was appointed by the Mayor to serve on the Greater Norwich Local Development Corporation, a non-profit corporation created to develop and promote local industry.
Ms. Wilson received her Bachelor degree from St. Bonaventure University, Olean, New York. She then completed forty credits in the M.B.A. program at Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, New York, while working full-time in the banking industry. Ms. Wilson has over twenty years of combined financial experience in the public and private sectors. She is a State of Tennessee Certified Municipal Clerk and Recorder. Ms. Wilson is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants, and has successfully completed three of four certification exams. Other professional affiliations include GFOA, TGFOA, TAMCAR, and coursework through the Center for Government Training, University of Tennessee, MTAS.
She is a 1998 Coffee County Leadership in Progress graduate. Additionally she is Co-Coordinator of the state chapter of Talk About Curing Autism Now (TACA). The Wilsons are members of First United Methodist Church, and have three children who attend Tullahoma City Schools.
