Richard Shasteen was appointed Fire Chief in July 2007. He has been employed with the City of Tullahoma since 1986, becoming a full time fire department employee in 1988. Shasteen has held every rank in the Department, beginning as a Volunteer.
Shasteen holds an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Fire Science from Chattanooga State.
He completed his Emergency Medical Technician certification at the University of Alabama/Huntsville and is certified as a Journeyman-Instructor-Officer Level by the TN Fire Commission. He is a member of the National Fire Protection Association and the International Association of Fire Chiefs.
Shasteen is a life-long Tullahoma resident and graduated from Tullahoma High School in 1983. He is married to Pam and they have one son, Jackson.
