City Makes Paying Property Taxes More Convenient

The City of Tullahoma, in partnership with NIC Tennessee, is offering a new property tax payment option. This service enables business and citizens to more easily and conveniently make payment for city property taxes from a personal computer.

The city's leadership has made it a high priority to incorporate the use of the Internet and other innovative emerging technologies to deliver citizen services. The process to collect, for example, court fines, property tax payments, and other fees typically was handled manually, limiting a customer's method for payment. By using NIC's PayPort payment processing suite of solutions, the City of Tullahoma provides the ability to accept credit cards and electronic checks, giving the customer greater flexibility. Not only does the over-the-counter solution create increased satisfaction and customer convenience, the City also further improves internal operating efficiencies by adding the online functionality into its customer service offering, allowing property taxes to be paid on-line from the customer's home.

To pay taxes on-line without penalty from the convenience of your personal computer, simply go to the Tullahoma city government website at www.tullahomatn.gov and select "On-Line Services" before 4:30 p.m. on February 29, 2012. Payments made after that date will be considered late and subject to penalty. Contact City Recorder Rosemary Womack at 931 455-2648 if you need assistance with your transaction. Please be aware that your personal credit card company will charge a 3% transaction fee for this type of transaction.

NIC is the nation's leading provider of official government websites, online services, and secure payment processing solutions.
