Fire / Arson Investigation

The Fire Department investigates all fires for cause determination. The Fire Chief and Shift Captain (or Fire Scene Officer) gather the appropriate information, conduct the investigation, and submit a written report. If a fire is determined to be of a suspicious nature, the Fire Chief enlists the aid of the Tullahoma Police Department and the State of Tennessee Fire Marshall's Office. In the event of a building fire the Tullahoma Planning and Codes Department must make structural inspections before the building can be further occupied. If the structure is determined unsafe by the building official or his representative, proper permits must be obtained from the Planning and Codes Department prior to repairs or razing of the building.
