Hazardous Waste Collection Event

This Saturday, April 21, 2012 Household Hazardous Waste will be collected at the Coffee County Solid Waste facility, 2180 Murfreesboro Highway, Manchester, Tennessee 37355 from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Each year, the Tullahoma Public Works Department joins forces with the Manchester Public Works Department, Coffee Co. Solid Waste and the Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation to facilitate the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event.

Please take the time to gather and dispose of all your personal Household Hazardous Waste during this event. Please note, the following items will not be accepted: smoke detectors, explosives, radioactive materials, empty containers or medical waste. No school, governmental agency, commercial enterprise or business waste will be accepted. This event is for Household Hazardous Waste.

Household Hazardous Wastes may include, but are not limited to:

Household cleaners, paint thinner, stripper, adhesives, and other home improvement products, herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers, and other lawn & garden products, anti-freeze, gasoline, pool chemicals, aerosols, flourescent bulbs, thermostats, and thermometers.

Please note:

1. Small amounts of latex paint may be dried until solid and thrown away in the regular trash. Please call 931-723-5139 or 931-454-1768 for more information.
2. Alkaline batteries no longer contain mercury and therefore should be thrown away in the trash.
