Mayor Curlee to Host Community Health and Wellness Meeting
Wednesday, May 16 at 10:30am, DW Wilson Community Center
For the past two years Tullahoma has earned the distinction of being only one of two cities in middle Tennessee to receive Gov. Haslam’s Healthier Tennessee community recognition (the other is Franklin).
Mayor Curlee is inviting citizens interested in joining a committee focused on health and wellness to please attend a very important meeting next Wednesday, May 16th from 10:30 to 11:30 at D.W. Wilson Community center.
“It is critical we keep the momentum going and work hard to position Tullahoma as a healthy community,” said Mayor Lane Curlee. “Striving for more physical activity, improved nutrition and tobacco cessation.”
The Healthier Tennessee Communities program works to engage businesses, churches, schools and families in this effort. In this meeting we will learn how to take Tullahoma’s efforts to the next level and increase the number of people in our community who are physically active on a regular basis; 2. increase the number of people in our community who eat more fruits and vegetables, consume
less sugar, and manage portion size; 3. reduce the number of people in our community who use tobacco; and 4. increase awareness of this initiative. Please join this Get Fit! Tullahoma campaign.
