The City of Tullahoma Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BMA) Meeting Canceled for December 14, 2020
Virtual BMA Meeting Rescheduled for Tuesday, December 22, 2020

The City Administrator, Jennifer Moody, announced today that City of Tullahoma is canceling the BMA meeting scheduled for Monday, December 14, 2020 due to the COVID-19 spike.

“The current case count for Coffee County is 1.6%, and until there is a sustained decline, the city officials believe that out of an abundance of caution, this meeting and other in-person meetings should be re-scheduled to virtual meetings,” said Moody.

The BMA meeting has been re-scheduled for a Special Called virtual meeting for Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 5:30pm.

The entire country is experiencing a spike in cases, and Tennessee and Coffee County is no exception. Coffee County numbers for December 13 are as a follows:

604 active cases (+82 compared to December 12)
3,691 total cases (+110 compared to December 12)
Daily Case Rate 1.06% of population
48 expired cases
57 hospitalize (0 increase)
21% of people tested on December 14, 2020 were positive.

On November 18, 2020, the total cases for Coffee County were 298.

“These numbers are justification for postponing our meeting,” said Mayor Ray Knowis. “We want to encourage residents to avoid large gatherings, social distance and wear a mask. It is important that we do all that we can to protect our most vulnerable citizens.”
